Day 1: Sapa – Hang Da – Hau Thao (15km ~ 5.5 Hours)
At 9 am, your guide from Meditoursapa will meet you either at your hotel in Sapa or in front of Sapa’s main church.
After a brief introduction, we’ll hike 1km uphill along a narrow trail to a viewpoint offering panoramic views of Fansipan mountain (3,143 m), the highest peak in Indochina, and Sapa town.
Next, we’ll admire the renowned rice terraces of the Muong Hoa Valley, which is adjacent to Sapa’s largest river and valley.
Continuing our journey, we’ll descend the mountainside to Hang Da, a village of the Black Hmong minority, where you might spot local animals like buffalo, cattle, and pigs. Lunch will be served at a small restaurant operated by a local family.
Afterward, we’ll follow a gentle road down to Hau Thao, another village of the Black Hmong ethnic group. Depending on the season, you might witness local farming activities such as rice harvesting or planting.
Upon arrival in Hau Thao, a warm welcome awaits at a homestay hosted by a Black Hmong family. You’ll have time to relax, shower, and anticipate a delicious dinner.
Day 2: Hau Thao – Giang Ta Chai – Ta Van – Lao Chai– Y Linh Ho – Sapa (12km ~ 5 Hours)
Wake up to clouds drifting through the valley and the sun rising over the mountains. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the homestay before starting today’s trek. Departing from Hau Thao village, we’ll descend to Giang Ta Chai, where you’ll witness a waterfall and encounter the Red Dao minority.
Next, ascend to the Hoa Lien Son mountain range (altitude 1,850m above sea level) for a panoramic view of the Muong Hoa Valley.
After taking in the scenery, descend to Ta Van village, home to Giay and Black Hmong minorities.
Following Ta Van, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Lao Chai village.
Post lunch, trek uphill to the main road in Y Linh Ho village, where our transport awaits to return us to Sapa. End of tour!
