On this tour, Meditoursapa’s guide will take you to visit five different villages in the Hmong, Giay, and Red Dao ethnic minorities.The tour will allow you to enjoy fantastic mountain landscapes and see Sapa’s biggest river and valley. You will also see the famous rice terrace fields and learn more about the culture, customs, and traditions of the three main ethnic minorities in Sapa. Our tour guide will also introduce you to the Hmong’s unique marriage traditions, rice fields, work and house-building techniques, and much more!

Day 1: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (15 Km ~ 6 Hours)
The tour commences at 9 am. Your local guide will meet you at your hotel in Sapa Town or front of the main church.
After a brief introduction, we’ll descend 2km along Cat Cat’s road, a renowned village of the Hmong minority. We’ll cross the hanging bridge over the Muong Hoa River and ascend through a bamboo forest into the mountains.
Enjoy breathtaking views of Vietnam’s most extensive and beautiful rice terraces and the majestic Hoang Lien Son mountain range.
Next, we’ll descend to Y Linh Ho village for lunch at a small, traditional restaurant operated by a local Hmong family.
Following lunch, we’ll journey to Lao Chai, home to one of the region’s oldest and largest Hmong communities.
From Lao Chai, we’ll trek to Ta Van Village, where we’ll spend the night among the Giay and Hmong ethnic minorities. Depending on the season, you may witness rice planting or harvesting and learn about these groups’ distinctive cultures.
You’ll have time to relax, shower, and prepare for dinner. Optionally, you can join an informal cooking class with your host.
Day 2: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Sapa (11km ~ 5 Hours)
Start your morning with a cup of hot coffee or tea amidst the serene surroundings of your homestay and nearby rice fields. After breakfast, we’ll hike uphill into the mountains toward the beautiful waterfalls of Giang Ta Chai.
Alongside your local guide, delve deeper into the culture and daily life of the Red Dao community during a visit to a local family.
Following a brief stop, we’ll return to the waterfalls via an alternative trail, crossing a second hanging bridge.
Enjoy lunch at a small, local restaurant operated by a Hmong family in Giang Ta Chai village. Afterward, our bus will transport you back to Sapa Town.
(The tour concludes around 3:00 pm in Sapa town, providing ample time to arrange transportation back to Hanoi or elsewhere)
